The Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja hosted the “Managed Health Care Stakeholders’ Summit 2021” to bring together key players in the health insurance arena and the regulator, as well as private sector and the government establishments that access healthcare under retainership arrangement, to rub minds towards achieving improve services, today 30th September, 2021.
The centre also awarded various institutions, HMOs and individuals for outstanding efforts made in health care delivery.
The Medical Director earlier in his opening remarks noted that the summit is the first of its kind which has been put together by the FMC Abuja to further improve on the challenges of physical infrastructure, equipment and others.
He also said that the benefits of the event are far reaching and indeed immeasurable benefits as it provides a meeting point for comparing the notes and cross fertilisation of ideas.
Further speaking on the awards and presentation of certificates of recognition, he disclosed that the awardees were carefully selected using meticulous and objective criteria.
Also speaking, the guest of Honour, Hon. Minister of State, Health, Dr (Sen) Adeleke Mamora expressed his joy for being part of the event, while commending the Medical Director and the management of the FMC Abuja for availing such a platform to discuss healthcare issues. He therefore urged the management of the FMC Abuja on sustainability.
The Board Chairman, Dr Alex Ideh recalled the days of little beginning of the centre, stating that the summit is a good initiative as it has brought stakeholders together, especially the NHIS.

The Board Chairman, Dr Alex Tosan also received an award among other dignitaries and organisations.
Succeeding the awards was the submit theme presentation.
The Head of Department, Family Medicine, Dr Popoola, while the Head of Managed Care/ NHIS Unit, Dr Okoye and the DGM, SOAD, NHIS, Dr Sikiru spoke on the sub-theme presentations respectively.
During the interactive session, the various experts expressed their views and advised on
the sincerity of purpose, holistic and transparency from various levels.
Dr Okoye gave the vote of thanks as the submit was brought to a close.
