In a bid to update staff in their various professions and to enable them excel on the job, the hospital Management organised a 3-day intensive training for the staff of Medical Social Workers, Psychologists and Counsellors which commenced from 31st August to 2nd September 2021. The training was tagged “Patient Care Coordination and Navigation”.
In her opening remarks, the Head of Social Welfare Department, Mrs Erdoo Iorfa welcomed participants to the training and expressed delight to the Medical Director, Prof. Saad Ahmed for always granting the opportunity to train and retrain staff with a view of improving service delivery.
The Medical Director disclosed that, based on the report from the Head of Unit, he understood some of the challenges faced and the need for staff training which would give rise to optimal performance.
He appreciated the facilitator, Mrs Zipporah Nyariki for her unflinching efforts to making the training worthwhile, adding that with her track records in capacity building both national and internationally, he strongly believed that the participants were in no doubt, in capable hands. On behalf of the hospital management, Mrs. Zipporah received an award from the Medical Director for an impactful and detailed training session.
The Head of Clinical Services, Dr Joseph Eziechila thanked the Medical Director for organizing the training. He appreciated the Resource Person for the impactful session, pointing out that the knowledge acquired would be used judiciously to improve service delivery.
At the end of the training, certificates were issued to participants.
